I had to take Gizmo to the vet today to get his vaccinations. He actually had his rabies/distemper just last year, but to take him to Mexico, his vaccinations have to have been given within a year. I'll be really close, but rather than risk it, I just decided to have them done again. But I discovered that Gizmo seems to do better in the car when he is belted in the seat next to me. I thought he liked being on the floor better because that's where he always tries to hide, but he seemed much calmer being on the seat. I wonder if it's less noisy for him there. I know at least he is not close to the speaker.
Oh, and the vet confirmed what I already knew . . . that Gizmo needs to lose some weight. He weighs 20 lbs right now. The vet suggested getting low-calorie food for older cats. I need to go see what I can find like that.
