Gizmo enjoying the ride. |
Today has been a rough day. Even though I got more sleep last night, I've been feeling exhausted the whole day. It's a good thing I was only going to Atlanta, otherwise I would probably have to have pulled over for a nap. It's crazy. I used to drive between Utah and North Dakota twice a year without much problems. Now I feel like as soon as I get out on the road, I'm feeling drowsy. That's even with cold air blasting out of my air conditioner.
I also have been feeling extremely hungry. I literally eat, and right after feel as if I've eaten nothing. I'm not sure what THAT is all about.

Gizmo tried to crawl under the passenger seat
and got himself wedged in there. |
I made it to Atlanta around 11:30. I went to the temple here because I wanted to go to a session. The next and last session was supposed to start at 1. I couldn't check into my hotel yet, so I was trying to figure out what to do with Gizmo. I took him out of my car to let him lay in the grass while I was waiting for it to get closer to 1:00. Then I saw a little hook under the back bumper of my car. I realized that I could tie Gizmo there, leave his food and water under the bumper, and he would be able to lay in the shade in the grass, or go under the car if he wanted to. I figured that would be better than baking in the oven that my car would become.
It was nice to go through a session in the temple, but I was so drowsy. The heat did not help me in there. Still, it felt good. After, I came to my hotel, which isn't far from the temple. I was looking up things to do on the internet when I fell asleep. I slept for about two hours! I think the only reason I woke up is that I was really hungry (I hadn't eaten lunch because I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do before going to get food). I decided I needed to get dinner and that I was too tired to do anything tonight. I got some Thai food, and am hoping that I will be well rested tomorrow. If not, I have a short drive to Birmingham, Alabama where I will be spending tomorrow night, and hopefully that will be helpful in getting me back to normal.
