Dallas to El Paso

Odd school room key in Dallas
I made it to El Paso.  It was a long day, especially since I decided to drive briefly up in to Oklahoma, just because it would have been the only state left in the lower 48.  Now I have been to every state in the U.S. except Alaska.  I will have to plan a trip to Alaska soon to remedy that situation.
Anyway, the other thing that made today a long day was the difficulty in finding a gas station.  I could not find a gas station in Dallas that would just let me fill up.  After I drove north a little ways, I found one.  It was really frustrating though.  When I have internet access again, I will have to write an email about that.

After I went up in to Oklahoma, I entered back into Texas and ended up on a highway.  It was really annoying, so I forced my GPS to take me to I-20 after awhile.  I didn't want to drive all the way to El Paso on those highways because it was just too unpredictable, and it was really annoying to have to slow down for the towns.  It added about a half hour on to my travel time, but I think it was worth it.
Gizmo did really well.  I am happy to say that I think Gizmo is a pro now.  Maybe he even kind of likes driving in the car, though I don't think he would ever admit it.  Tonight I am sleeping in El Paso.  Tomorrow I meet up with one of my A-100 classmates to cross in to Mexico!
You know you're in Texas when you see lots of oil rigs,
right?
To my surprise and delight, Texas speed limit is 80!
