What a week!!!

My damaged garage door.  Who knew that a garage
could do so much damage to itself?!?!
Wow.  This week has been crazy.  Just a couple of days ago, something crazy happened.  I didn't write about it then partly because I didn't understand how it happened.  I still don't actually.  A couple of days ago, when I got home from work, I tried closing my garage door, as usual.  I was gathering my stuff in my car, so I wasn't really watching, but I saw that it went back up.  Sometimes that happens.  I'm not really sure what the cause is, but I figured something had passed through the sensor, or something like that.  I tried closing it again.  This time, I watched.  Only as it began to close, did I notice that it was bent a little on top.  To my surprise and horror, when the door tried closing, the metal arm that is attached to the door completely tore off!  That metal arm bent the door a little more.

I left the door up and went inside.  This was after hours, so I figured I would put in a ticket on it the next day.  What I didn't think about was that Ulises was going to be coming over.  Naturally when he arrived, he thought I had forgotten to close the door, so he tried closing it for me.  That did even MORE damage.  Today someone from the Consulate came to close the door for me.  I feel better about having the garage door shut, even if I can't use it.  So, we're still trying to work out with the landlord about getting the door replaced.
Then I hurt my foot last night.  When I woke up this morning, I couldn't walk, so I got Ulises to drive me to Star Medica.  There, a doctor looked at my foot and then they took an x-ray.  They had me sit in a wheelchair in case something was really wrong.  It also took FOREVER.

By the time I was done, I still didn't know if there was anything major wrong with my foot, but I was told that I shouldn't put any weight on it.  I called into work saying that I couldn't walk (I had already informed them to say that I was going to be late if I could come in at all).  I said that I couldn't walk and that I didn't have crutches.  I asked my supervisor if there was a way to get a wheel chair from the Consulate so I could come in.  He said that if I wanted to come in, he would find a way to get me inside.
Tired because I made him wake up and
take me to Star Medica . . .
Ulises drove me to the Consulate and my supervisor came out with a wheel chair to get me.  I felt a little silly, but at least I made it in to work.  I had to leave around 2:00 to get my x-ray results.  They didn't see anything really.  I also had to go to El Paso for my orthodontist appointment.  I needed to do some shopping, but since I couldn't walk . . . there wasn't anything to be done.  Hopefully, since there doesn't appear to be a broken bone or a torn ligament, it won't take long for me to be able to walk normally.  And I just got my treadmill, too.  What luck!
