What will be even more interesting will be to compare it to the sunrise service I am going to in a few hours. I’m sure excited! I’m excited even though I am going to get 2 or less hours of sleep. Oh well, that’s the price to pay for once-in-a-lifetime opportunities!

Midnight Mass
I had my doubts about going to Mid
night Mass. I almost backed out of it knowing that I would be very tired. But my roommate convinced me to go anyway. (Left - Midnight Mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher). I’m glad I did, though I know I am going to be exhausted tomorrow. We left the
center around 11:00 to drive to the Old City. We were dropped off at New Gate and walked down to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Sometimes it pays to be short because I was eventually able to worm my way to pretty much the front and I felt no guilt in doing so. (Right - Getting ready for the procession around the Sepulcher). I couldn’t really understand what was going on even though I had a program and a translation of the readings. It was my first mass, and I was surprised at how musical it was. There was very little reading. There were three passages.
Two were read in Latin and the third in English, surprisingly.
