Back on the Mainland

We went to go see the sunrise. We didn't make it up to the top of the volcano, but we still managed to see the sunrise. We also saw a couple of Nenes, the rarest goose.
After that, we packed up and checked our luggage in at the airport. We went to Burger King for breakfast and then decided to return to Kanaha Beach Park. First, we ran some errands and drove to Enterprise to return our car. From the airport, we walked to the beach and sat on a park bench. We had about 45 minutes on the beach before heading back to the airport. (The picture is on our way back to the airport, we took pictures by some trees for fun.) We flew back to San Diego and the flight was long, but they had good food. I brought some Taro rolls back with me from Hawaii to share with my family. It really is a shame that we can't get them here on the mainland.
Returning to the mainland was weird, but nice. I have to admit, Maui was beautiful, but I'm not sure I'll go back if I ever return to Hawaii. I'm not much of a sit-on-the-beach-all-day kind of person. I do want to see more of the Big Island and the other islands that we missed. Next time, I want to make that snorkel/whale watch cruise. I guess I'll have to go earlier in the year.
